Catching Up
So moving to college seemed like it would never come. But it IS coming quickly. It's hard to believe. With moving away, I feel like everyone is realizing that we won't be seeing each other the day after Labor Day anymore. College means not seeing everyone from High School everyday, and that's totally fine. Today however, I got a chance to catch up with Amy. We haven't seen each other since graduation and it was nice to just chill out. We went and got cupcakes and sat at the lake for a while. It was the perfect time to catch up before we move away.

Homework
Today, I've sat down several times to attempt this 12-20 page paper that is due on Thursday. Hopefully, I'll make more progress than I have today. I have most of my points planned out. That's always the hardest part it seems like. All I can think about is Deloras Umbridge's "Progress for progress' sake must be prohibited!" Do you think my professor will accept that as an excuse? :)

Too many thoughts
Soon, I will be moving. I don't quite know how I feel about it yet. Mainly, I'm excited. I just feel like there's a lot of little details to figure out i.e. what clothes to bring, what books to bring, which nic-nacs I want with to make my room feel like mine, what I need to purchase, how I'm going to learn my way around a new town (although it's not totally new) and so on.
I am looking forward to moving in with my best friend, who happens to be my sister. I have a feeling that it will be a great time and a nice transition for me to have someone who can help me out with things when I need it. There is so much anticipation running through my veins right now. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. For now though, I'll just be chilling at home pondering all of those beautiful questions.
Such a goofy picture! This was taken last summer right after I took my senior pictures. |

Every Step!
Camp highlights are here! It was such a great week! So many beautiful people and great memories. |
Brittney was a great mentor. Last week was filled with great sarcasm. |
There's nothing like spending a few minutes breathing on the dock in the morning looking at beautiful Lake Morgan. |
Chapel is the best part of the day! There's nothing better than hearing a room full of youth praising! |
I couldn't have asked for a better cabin of ladies for my first time! |

Packing!
Sorry for the crappy quality of this picture. I've been busy packing for another beautiful week at camp! So in other words, this is goodbye for a few days. I'll be back with wonderful pictures I'm sure!
Pathways here I come!

The Final Installment of a Beautiful Era
Last night, we sat down in the theatre for our last midnight premiere. I've heard a lot of people who say, "Why do you even care? It's just a stupid movie." I have to tell you that Harry, Ron, Hermoine, Ginny, Neville, Fred, George and basically every character have been my best friends since second grade.
My adventures with J.K. Rowlling's wonderful tales began in second grade when I first read the fourth book. I was hooked. The next fall, I proceeded to read EVERY BOOK until that point. (My third grade mind was amazed. I grew to love the books. I found out everything I could about Harry Potter. In sixth grade when touring WB studios, I was told that I should just quit school, and get a job in the Harry Potter section. I apparently knew more than the tour guide since I ended up commentating half of the tour.
Since the last movie has come out, I don't know what to expect. There has been something Harry Potter related for me every year since that magical day when I started reading the fourth book.
I have to say I was EXTREMELY impressed with how well the movie was made. I was excited that John Williams came back to compose. Almost everything that was done was up to my "standards."
I hope someday that my kids can invite Harry and Company to be some of their best friends as well.

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 25
If I could have anything from Harry Potter, I think I'd choose the mirror that Sirius gave Harry. It's like Skype, but more exclusive. It's an extra special communication device.
Today is the day! Tonight at midnight, I will be sitting with two wonderful friends, hopefully decked out in Potter Gear. I'm excited and sad all at the same time. It's hard to see such a wonderful series come to an end.
I had planed to reread all of the books this summer before the final installment came out. Unfortunately, I decided to take summer classes. BUT I have two weeks between summer and fall semesters. I plan on hunkering down at Lake George and reading until my heart is content.
Happy Harry Potter Day to you all! I hope you get a chance to see it either at midnight or as soon as you can!

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 23 and 24
Bogarts. They're so mysterious! Right now, I'd have to say that if one showed up in front of me it would be homework. It's scary and disgusting all at once. I give up on it.
My favorite HP related song is Do the Hippogriff! I wish the Weird Sisters were real. It would make life better!

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 21 and 22
My favorite HP character is totally Neville! He's so sweet and genuine. Everyone in the beginning played him off like he was an idiot. But I always loved him. He's witty too!
In the second task, I'd probably end up rescuing my
beloved sister. She's my best friend and knows me
better than I do sometimes. We're awful at taking pictures together. I'm surprised we're both smiling here!

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 19 and 20

As for the clothing that I want, I've always admired the house scarves. I have a Gryffindor Scarf now, but it's not one of the long, full ones that I really appreciate. So this is my wish! If you feel the need to make my wish come true, I feel that our friendship could remain in tact.

P.S. 3 days until the premiere!

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 17 and 18
Hmmm. My favorite quidditch team? I tend to be pro women since I happen to be one. I think it's pretty great that the Hollyhead Harpies are an all women team. Therefore, they're my favorite.
Being an animagus would be sweet. Not going to lie. I have a thing for giraffes. I can't exactly see a purpose in turning into a giraffe other than being tall, so I'm deciding that there doesn't need to be a purpose.

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 15 and 16
Ahhh! I'm behind! I went camping yesterday with some beautiful friends and was enjoying my time away from the internet. Consequently, I'm behind on my tribute but I guess I'll figure it out! :)
I enjoy cats. So, I'd enjoy a cat McGonagall.

Such an odd request for favorite fan art. Anywhoo! Buttttt... I have to say A Very Potter Musical is the best!

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 12 and 13
Because I want to get done with this before the midnight showing, I will be doing double posts from now on.
My favorite line, that kinda just popped into my head is Molly Weasley's "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" She really doesn't want Ginny to be killed or harmed by Belatrix. And I don't blame her! It's totally uncharacteristic of Molly that it was just perfect!
Hufflepuff's traits are: loyalty, dedication and hard work. For the most part, I feel like these are me. The traits of Hufflepuff describe me most out of the other four houses.

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 11
I honestly have no idea what I'd see in the mirror of Erised. Maybe enough money to pay for all of my education? Maybe?

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 10
If I could have any of the three hallows, I'd totally choose the cloak. Invisibility would be perfect for all sorts of tasks. Mainly, for getting places that I'm not allowed to be. Like concerts that are 21+ or just random events.

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 9
How can you not like Lupin? He's so wonderful! There also aren't a lot of D.A.D.A. teachers that were quality. Half of the time, the teachers weren't actually who they appeared to be. He rivals as one of my favorite HP characters of all time. Plus, he married Tonks :)

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 8
This is a huge controversy in my own mind. And it has been for as long as I've been a Potter nerd.
But.. I guess I think Snape is good gone bad. He really just wanted Lily. He hated James too much though and took it all out on Harry. Also being in cahoots with Malfoy's just drove me crazy.

Hooray! I passed my NEWTs! I feel like being a Dragon Keeper would be adventurous and a job that involves traveling. Perfect! Charlie makes it seem wonderful!

A Tribute to Harry Potter- Day 6
I feel like this may be slightly cliche, but the movies just keep getting better and better! So I have HIGH expectations for the last one. All special effects set aside, the plot of the seventh book/movie is just fantastically written.
