Weakness

That's right, the girl who loves food, has another weakness for something.  Cadbury Mini Eggs are the best! They're better than M&M's in my opinion.  Something about them is just magical.  I was at the grocery store yesterday for my sister and I walked past them, and had to go back for the magical little bag.  

Midterms

Midterms this semester is slightly more stressful than last.  Mainly because of one class.  Oh well.  I will try my hardest not to stress about things and enjoy the little things! Like my view today from the third floor of the library.  The sun was shining in and it was quiet.  Thank goodness!

Saturday Night Shenanigans

As I had the whipped cream out last night, my crazy cat decided to jump up and try and have some. Who would have known that kitties love whipped cream?!

I got to spend the evening with lovely friends! We watched "The Little Mermaid!" 

Disney movies defiantly are the way to go with old friends!

Week 4 of Gathering Prep-Placement

I was overjoyed to receive my placement for the gathering earlier this week! Since I am a Community Life Volunteer, I am assigned to a hotel that will host evening activities.  My assigned hotel is the Hyatt Hotel adjacent to the Superdome! I never thought that I would be that close to the hub activity for the gathering.  I am thankful for the opportunity that I will have in July! I'm looking forward to getting into contact with my coordinator and all of the other volunteers who I will be serving along side of.  Going to NOLA in July seems to be getting more and more real every day!

Tastes So Green!

Today was my one and only day of the year for a Shamrock Shake. They're so delicious. I only ever get one per year to make them more special.  It was the perfect companion for my drive home! 

One Thursday in February

Today was a short attention span kind of day in class.  I constantly was fidgeting and thinking about what I need to get done.  I blame this on the beautiful weather outside! I wore a sweatshirt and a puffy vest to school! I should remind you that it is the middle of February.  I realize that the weather is a huge indicator that our environment is suffering from decisions that we as humans have made but, I can't help but love how nice it is outside.  So I decided that instead of wasting my time indoors to get some physical activity, I'd go outside and get active! I biked a little 7 mile loop that goes past the river and through campus.  Thanks to knitted lovelies, I was able to stay warm.

A Valentine's Day Baking Adventure

Tonight after I got home from a pretty good Valentine's adventure (Seafood Hot Pot) I decided I needed to use up the rest of the frosting from my cupcake excursion last week.  So, I figured that sugar cookies for LCM supper at church tomorrow night was the best way to go! I just finished them up, it's almost 1 am.  I don't exactly know why I thought I should do it tonight but I did! I'm glad I did too!

Week 3 of Gathering Prep-Beautiful

This past week I've been thinking about all of the amazing talents that are shared at the gathering. So many people put time and talent in the gathering. One person in particular is Agape. 

 I'm blessed to have worked with Agape Dave in our own synod.  I'm extremely excited that he shares his messages with youth and that he has such a passion for the ELCA.  His song "Beautiful"  has always touched me and many of my friends.  I think it's totally important for people to realize, especially youth, that we are all beautiful.  God created us and cares for us no matter what we look like on the outside.  We are beautiful inside and out.  

So Many Days

It's been so many days since I've posted! It makes me sad! Things have been busy, but that's okay! 

Today I went to a place in town that you get to paint your own pottery with a friend.  It was super fun! I've had cupcakes on my mind lately.  So I decided I need a cupcake plate! So that's what I did.  I'm excited for it to be fired and get it back.  

 Since I was thinking so intently about cupcakes I decided to come home and make cupcakes!

Skating

Today I went skating with a friend! It's been fun having a place to skate so close to my house.  It's a great way to get outside and thankfully today, unlike the past times I've gone, the ice was smoother.  I can't believe I never skated more when I was a kid.  I guess we all have a childlike spirit in us!
